□Overseas Koreans Foundation (OKF) (President, Young-Kon Kwon) opens ‘2010 World Convention of Chairmen of Overseas Koreans Associations’ for 4 days from coming week of the 15th to the 18th while visiting between Seoul and Hoingseong of Gangwon-Do with participation of 500 people including 380 chairmen of overseas Koreans Associations from 76 countries.
□ The convention of this year held under the slogan of ‘Bigger Republic of Korea, Bigger World Overseas Koreans’ as the 11th convention is carried out in diverse programs for providing helps and strength for increasing the national dignity of the Republic of Korea with participation of chairmen of overseas Koreans Associations and domestic main dignitaries. (National Assembly, policy for overseas Koreans committee, ministry of foreign affairs and trade, etc)

□In particular, Overseas Koreans Foundation (OKF) expects that GKN project will provide a momentum for preparing the base for the national development as a communication channel in which overseas Koreans and domestic Korean people can share together through explanation meetings of the building project of Global Korean Network.
□On the other hand, during the period of the convention, lunches and dinners by prime minister Un-Chan Chung, minister Myung-Hwan Yu of foreign affairs and trade, Mayor Se-Hoon Oh of Seoul special city will be hosted and on the 17th, at Hoingseong (Hyundai Sungwoo Resort) of Gangwon-Do, support festival for wishing victory in the game between Korea-Argentina of 2010 South African World Cup will be held.
□President Young-Kon Kwon sai8d that “since it is an event attracting attentions from various sectors and classes for implementation of positive overseas Koreans policy of the government, we are preparing not to have any mistake in operation of the Convention” and wished that “through this convention, stepping stone for the Republic of Korea to make a leap to stand tall in the center of the world can be prepared while reinforcing network between overseas Koreans and domestic Korean people.”
