‘Hot’ fever of 100 young overseas Koreans

 

2010 World Future Leaders Conference in which 100 future Korean leaders have attended was opened at Grand Hilton Hotel at Hongeun-Dong, Sedaemun-Gu on July 26, 2010.

The opening ceremony was progressed in showing PR video of the Foundation, opening speech of Planning Director, Kim, Gyeong-Geun of the Foundation, a keynote speech by secretary general, Yoon, Gyeong-Bok of Korea-American Community Foundation (KACF) and etc with a photo event in which all participants waved folding fans and Korean national flags as the start.

Director, Kim, Gyeong-Geun who attended on behalf of the Foundation president, Kwon, Young-Kon said in the opening speech that "Korea will become a member of more excellent countries too when many excellent Koreans work actively in the global stage" and "various and affluent experiences of the next generation leaders are important assets for publicizing national status of the Republic of Korea as well as superiority of Korean people."

Secretary general, Yoon, Gyeon-Bok who delivered a keynote speech said that   "it is regretful for each successful Korean individual to become more remote from Korean society even though overseas next generation leaders including all participants here today were created" and reveled that "he hopes through this conference, it will become a momentum for young Koreans of the world to establish networks for building Korean society with a new meaning."

In this conference, over 100 next generation leaders from 23 countries such as secretary general Yoon who was once a anchor man of the US FOX-TV, professor Kim, Suk-Hyeon of Tohoku University who was once assistant in charge of international affairs of a former chief secretary of a Lower House member, Ojawa Ichiro of Japanese Democratic Party, Kim, Mike who wrote ‘Escaping North Korea’ based on his life for four years at North Korea-China border area, Lee, Hyeon-Ju, an investigator and a mediator appointed by Australian Human Rights Commission, Lee, Se-Na, a consultant in charge of social policy and education of UNICEF and etc are participating.

In addition, young leaders such as Lee, Lyudmila who is operation and marketing expert of Karakanda Oil Operating B.V., the biggest gas and petroleum company of Kazakhstan, Chung, Seon-Min who is a member of manufacturing team of `Boeing 787 Grimm Liner Airplane' which is an ambitious product of Boeing Company, Choi, Se-Won who is a person in charge of Asia Pacific Motor Sports of Porsche and etc also attracted attention.

They plan to experience various programs ranging all fields of politics, economy and society of Korea, to discuss roles as next generation leaders of Koreans in the global era and to have time of exchanges until July 29, 2010.

Attending leaders will participate in luncheon invited by Minister, Yu, Myung-Hwan of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, a lecture by preparation committee of G 20 Summit Conference and plan to have an event of 'Night of Next Generation Network' in which assistants of members of the National Assembly, next generation businessmen and etc after opening a forum about `improvement of national brand and roles of Korean next generation.'
