The national men's archery team has won its third consecutive Olympic title at the Paris Summer Olympics, following the women's 10th straight triumph the day before, to demonstrate Korea's global supremacy in the sport.

The men on July 29 defeated France, 5-1, in the finals at Les Invalides in the French capital. The eldest member and captain Kim Woojin and teammates Kim Je Deok and Lee Wooseok gave Korea its third straight team gold in the Olympics following those won in the 2016 Rio and 2020 Tokyo competitions.

The French team was led by former Korea archery coach Oh Seon Tek but could not overcome the world's top nation in the sport.

Ban Hyojin on July 29 moves to bite her gold medal in the women's 10 m air rifle at the awards ceremony held at Chateauroux Shooting Centre in Paris.

In addition, Korea won its 100th cumulative Olympic gold thanks to Ban Hyojin, the youngest shooting competitor in the nation's history.

The high schooler defeated Huang Yuting of China in the finals of the women's 10 m air rifle that day at Chateauroux Shooting Centre in Paris. She won Korea's 100th gold in all Summer Olympics and became the youngest to do so at 16 years, 10 months and 18 days old.

In judo, Olympics newcomer Huh Mi-mi won the silver in the women's 57-kg class.

A descendant of pro-independence activist Huh Seok, the judoka traded her Japanese citizenship for Korean nationality following her grandmother's wish for the athlete to compete in the Olympics wearing the Taegeuk (national symbol) mark.

As of July 30 at 11 a.m. Korean Standard Time, Korea had five golds -- its goal for this Olympics -- plus three silvers and one bronze.
