Kim A-lim wins LPGA season opener with wire-to-wire victory

Korea’s Kim A-lim has won at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, the season-opening match for the U.S. Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour.


Kim on Feb. 3 finished with a total score of 20-under-par 268, beating world No. 1 Nelly Korda of the United States by two strokes, at Lake Nona Golf & Country Club (par 72, 6,624 yards) in Orlando, Florida.


Kim maintained the lead from the first round throughout the final fourth, securing a wire-to-wire victory. The winning prize money is USD 300,000 (about KRW 430 million).


It was Kim's third career LPGA Tour victory, earning her first victory in four years since the 2020 U.S. Women's Open.


In the same tournament, Korea’s Ko Jin-young tied for fourth, followed by Kim Hyo-joo (10th), Yoo Hae-ran (14th), and Yang Hee-young (22nd).
