What are concealed assets? All assets hidden in Korea or abroad by people who are responsible for a financial institution's failure (including real estate, personal properties, bank deposits, claims pending in court and cryptocurrency] " Assets registered in the relevant person's own name, like real estate properties located in Korea, do not need to be reported.



Who should be reported? If you are not sure, please contact the KDIC's Concealed Property Report Center to ask. Persons involved in an insolvency See Paragraph 1 of Article 21-2 of the Depositor Protection Act for a definition. • Current or former executives and officers of a financial firm who caused the firm to fail, which led to the injection of public funds into the firm • Borrowers of the firm who defaulted on their debt obligations and thus made its problems worse

How much is the reward? Depending on the amount of recovery and your contribution, you can receive up to 3 billion won. Amount of recovery attributable to the tip 500 million won or less Between over 500 million won and 2 billion won Between over 2 billion won and 10 billion won Over 10 billion won Reward 20% of the recovered amount attributable to the tip 15% of the recovered amount attributable to the tip in excess of 500 million won plus 100 million won 10% of the recovered amount attributable to the tip in excess of 2 billion won plus 325 million won 5% of the recovered amount attributable to the tip in excess of 10 billion won plus 1.125 billion won Amount of recovery attributable to the tip: Amount of actual recovery * Contribution to the recovery [%] We offer monetary rewards as incentives to encourage reporting that serves the public interest.


Examples of cases that require reporting Where a person implicated in an insolvency has assets stashed away in someone else's name Where a person implicated in an insolvency has real estate properties concealed overseas Where a person implicated in an insolvency is entitled to a dividend from auction proceeds or a deposit of funds with the court.
